Cork - Restoring Balance: Caring for the Carers Workshop
Mon 8th Jun 2026, 10:30am

Event Number 726

View event details
Details

Restore Balance: Caring for the Carers is a structured, wellbeing workshop designed

to support individuals in caring roles to restore their energy, build self-awareness, and

develop sustainable self-care practices.

Facilitated by Gillian O’Gorman, burnout prevention coach, the workshop provides a safe,

reflective space for participants to pause, reconnect with their own needs, and prioritise

their own wellbeing.

A core element of the programme is bringing carers together to share similar experiences, to

feel heard, and to listen without judgement. The workshop creates space for participants to

let go of daily pressures, be present for themselves, and reduce the sense of isolation that

can often come with caring roles.

Through a blend of guided breathwork, reflective exercises, and facilitated group

connection, participants are supported to:

• Understand their stress responses and nervous system patterns

• Explore personal values and boundaries that underpin wellbeing

• Reframe unhelpful thought patterns and internal pressures

• Develop a realistic, personalised self-care routine

• Connect with others through shared experience and mutual support

Summer Wellbeing Session: Breath, Ease & Gentle Movement for family carers.

Carers in North County Dublin are invited to join Córa — yoga therapist, mindfulness teacher, and life coach — for a soft summer pause. As we ease into the summer months, the body naturally leans toward openness: breath deepens, shoulders soften, and a little more lightness becomes possible. This 90 minute session invites you to follow that gentle shift — to stretch, breathe, and unwind what has been held.
Through gentle mindful movement, calming breathwork, and quiet moments of presence, we’ll welcome the spaciousness and warmth this season offers. Suitable for all ages and abilities, with seated and standing options throughout. Total beginners warmly welcomed.
Come as you are and let the ease of summer settle into your body

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our upcoming webinar “Work, Informal Care, and Money – Balancing Responsibilities and Financial Well-being”, organised within the EQUAL-CARE project.

During the session we will explore:

•           Challenges of combining employment and informal care
•           Financial pressures and hidden costs of unpaid care
•           Rights, benefits, and existing support mechanisms for carers
•           Managing household finances and long-term security
•           Re-entering or navigating the job market as a carer
•           Supporting dual-role carers – formal care workers who also provide care at home

You will hear from leading experts from across Europe, bringing perspectives from research, policy, grassroots advocacy, and services supporting persons with disabilities.

Participants are also encouraged to think in advance about questions they may wish to ask the speakers, as there will be time for discussion during the webinar.

The EQUAL-CARE project aims to address the gender care gap in both formal care work and informal family caregiving by developing tools, training, and awareness initiatives that challenge stereotypes and promote equal opportunities for all carers.
